Katha features Saugat Malla and Usa Rajak in lead role. This is the first movie of Saugat Malla as a solo actor and he will be portraying the role of a lover boy. Usha Rajak, whose last hit movie was ‘Iku – The jungle man’ (First part) only does few selected movies. This movie is considered to an important movie in her career in Nepali movie industry.

The director, Prashant Rasaili is known for directing another popular movie ‘Acharya’. Although the movie was appreciated critically, it wasn’t successful commercially. ‘Katha’ is his boldest experiment, starting the shooting without any script. The script and dialogues were created simultaneously during the shooting at location and torch lights were used while shooting.

jevan Jung Thapa (Saugat Malla) is a loyal and hard-working police inspector. His life turns upside down when he finds himself trapped in between a brain-twisting case and road construction problems. In search of the man behind the kidnapping of a merchant, he eventually uncovers more clues to the case. Desperate to solve the case in order to gain promotion and live a happy life, he is left with nothing but his house which is marked for demolition, a worried wife and kid, and all the anger needed to solve the cliff-hanging case. The film depicts the increasing traffic problems along with increasing number of crimes of Kathmandu.

Fitkiree is a suspense story where a character Ramji Lamichhanne gets kidnapped on Tihar and his family gives one crore rupees to kidnapper and release him. After that Ramji informs the police to find out the man behind his kidnapping and his one crore rupees that is with kidnappers. This case is handled by the Inspector Jeewan ( Saugat Malla). While investigating this case, he meets Rupa (Diya Maskey) and Nishchal Basnet’s character. He tries to find out the money of Ramji Lamichhane with the help of these two characters. Along with this case there is a social problem of Jeewan through which he have to go every day.

The life of loyal and hard-working police inspector is turned upside down when he faced a road construction case. Searching for the person behind the kidnapping of a businessman led him to the clue to the issue.
